Automower® Intelligent Mapping - AIM
In 2022, a new feature will be launched for specific Automower® models. This function allows the user, via Automower® Connect, to exclude specific areas of the garden temporarily or permanently.

How does it work?
The process requires several stages. Firstly, the Automower® needs to complete several mowing cycles to register what your garden looks like and what obstacles are present. It learns through its sensors and GPS. The Automower® "maps" the garden in its memory as 30x30 cm squares where it records obstacles and slopes. The Automower® then uploads what it has learned to the cloud every time it returns home to the charging station.
When the Automower® has collected enough data, a virtual map of your garden is created in the Automower® Connect app. It shows an exact map of your garden with all the obstacles, slopes and even the location of the boundary wire and guide wire.

What is it used for?
Once the Automower® has enough data and has created your virtual map, you can simply create temporary or permanent "stay-out" zones with an accuracy of 1 m through the Automower® Connect app.
AIM also allows you to name different zones and set specific schedules, as well as specify the mowing height for a specific zone on your lawn.
For example, you can have the Automower® mow the grass at the "Front of the house" between 18:00 and 22:00 with a cutting height of 3 cm, while the rest of the lawn is cut between 12:00 and 18:00 at a cutting height of 4 cm.
Using AIM, you can also make the Automower® mow certain zones more often than others or vice versa.

Summary

The Automower® AIM allows the user to:

  • Permanently or temporarily switch off a certain part of the lawn, which means that the Automower® will not mow this part of the lawn while the setting is active.
  • Give different names to different areas of the lawn and specify specific mowing schedules with specific mowing heights.
  • Get a detailed virtual map of your entire lawn including obstacles, the boundary wire and the guide wire in the Connect app.
The Automower® AIM will be launched in spring 2022 and is only available with the following models: The Husqvarna Automower® 405X, Husqvarna Automower® 415X, Husqvarna Automower® 435X AWD and Husqvarna Automower® 535.
The feature will be available via a software update and is backward compatible. This means that if you have an older version of one of the Automower® models above, you can update and access the Automower® AIM.
