Is your Automower charging station flashing blue, red, yellow or green?
If the charging station for your Husqvarna Automower or Gardena robotic lawnmower flashes in one of the above-mentioned colours, there is one of various issues. In this article we will find out what these different colours mean.

Before you continue reading, we would like to highlight three things:
1. Sometimes there is more than one meaning for each of the different colours indicated by the charging station. For example, not all models of the Automower charging stations can flash yellow.

2. Most Automower charging stations do not check whether the guide wire is complete. You may have a break along the guide wire even if the charging station shows a solid green light. Charging stations that run a check on the guide wire are the three-wheeled Automower models, such as the Automower 105 and 308. If the guide cable has a break, the charging station will flash yellow for these models.

3. The robotic lawnmower does not affect the signal coming from the charging station. A common misconception is that the robotic lawnmower can affect what is indicated on the charging station. This is not the case.

Solid green light
The charging station will display a solid green light to indicate the loop is OK. The other colours indicate errors either in one of the components, or in the loop.

Green flashing light
If the charging station flashes green, there is a cable break on the Automower G2 models, for example the 220AC, the 230ACX etc.
For newer Automower models, such as Automower 310 and 430X, a flashing green light indicates that the ECO mode is activated. If you have not manually switched on the ECO mode and the charging station flashes green followed by the error message "No loop signal", it is most likely your charging station circuit board that has a fault. But first check if the ECO mode is turned on in the menu.

Blue flashing light (not applicable to the Automower 220AC, 230ACX, Solar Hybrid, 260ACX, 265ACX)
If the charging station flashes blue, there is a cable break. There is a cable break or damage to the boundary wire and needs repairs.

Yellow flashing light (only applies to three-wheeled Automowers and the Gardena models)
If the charging station flashes yellow, there is a break along the guide cable. There is a cable break or damage along the guide cable and repairs are needed.

Red solid or flashing light
A solid red light at the charging station can be due to several reasons. According to the manual, this is an indication of a broken antenna cable.
The aerial cable sits under the charging plate and guides the robotic lawnmower into the charging station when it is time to charge.
In our experience, the fault is most likely a defective circuit board in this case. The transformer may also be causing the fault.

If your charging station indicates several different colours
Charging stations may start flashing different colours. Alternating red, green and blue flashes, or other combinations, most likely indicate a defective circuit board in the charging station. This is not common but can occur, for example, after a thunderstorm.
