Error message "Battery empty" on the Husqvarna Automower
Do you see a "Battery empty" error message on your Husqvarna Automower? In this article, we'll help you try to find out what could be the cause of this error message.
Regardless of Automower model, "Battery empty" can appear on the display without warning. This means, just as the message suggests, that the battery is flat and Automower stops and needs to be carried into the charging station to be recharged.

What is the error message caused by?
There are a range of reasons for the "Battery empty" error message. In most cases, this is because the Automower hasn't found its way home to the charging station after finishing mowing within a reasonable time.

The most commmon reasons
Here is a list of the most common reasons for this error message.
1. The battery is starting to lose capacity and the Automower doesn't have enough power to make it home to the charging station before the battery runs out.
2. The guide cable is incorrectly positioned and the Automower can't find it within a reasonable time when it has to find its way home to the charging station.
3. The guide cable is faulty and the signal no longer works properly.
4. Something is stopping the Automower finding its way home to the charging station.
5. Error in search settings.
6. The Automower is set to the area of your plot – which means that it mows until the battery runs out and must be manually lifted back.

What should you do to avoid this happening?
Check that the guide cable is undamaged and correctly positioned.

Check that the robotic lawnmower is not stuck in an obstacle on its way home to the charging station. If it is, the guide loop should be repositioned or the object removed/moved.

Review the settings for the various search methods and adapt them to the lawnmower area. You can find settings under Menu->Settings->Find charging station.

Check the battery condition. Check how long it takes your Automower to mow the lawn. Depending on the model, the time it takes the lawnmower to mow the lawn will be anything from 70 minutes up to 240 minutes (you can find average cutting times in the manual for your Automower). If you notice that your Automower is only mowing for half an hour or less and then needs to charge, it is a clear sign that the battery is starting to run out and should be replaced.

The most common reason is that the guide cable isn't working properly (i.e. it has snapped off or isn't connected properly). Check that all the loops are installed according to the picture below.
