Filing equipment
Choose Filing equipment for accurate chainsaw-chain maintenance. Match the tool to chain pitch and cutter profile, and follow the filing angles specified for the exact chain.
Match the filing tool to the chain
Round-file diameter is selected for the cutter profile and chain size. A flat file is used with the correct depth-gauge tool. Combination gauges and 2-in-1 guides simplify repeatable angles only when they match the chain.
Work evenly
Secure the chain, file each cutter with consistent pressure and count, and compare cutter length as you work. Depth gauges should be adjusted in controlled steps. Excess removal cannot be reversed and can change cutting behaviour.
Check before you buy
Use the full saw model and product number, then verify every dimension in the product description. Wear suitable protective equipment and disconnect the power source before fitting or maintaining the cutting system.
